GSCA and Euromax to Co-Host 2012 European Film Expo at Futuroscope in Poitiers, France

Joint Event Will Bring Giant Screen Industry Together for Film Screenings at a Venue that Offers Nearly Every Type of Giant Screen Experience

The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) and Euromax announced they will co-host the GSCA European Film Expo, which will be held at Parc du Futuroscope in Poitiers, France, on March 20-22, 2012.

“We are thrilled to be working with Euromax on another Film Expo,” says GSCA Executive Director Tammy Seldon. “After the success of our partnership hosting the 2008 Film Expo together in London, we knew it would be just a matter of time before we found another opportunity to bring the industry together for a joint event.”

“It is a great chance to have a joint GSCA-Euromax meeting at one of the most unique sites dedicated to giant screens,” adds Euromax president Christian Scheidegger. “Futuroscope unites all types of screen and projection types on one spot, some of them unique worldwide. This will be a ‘must-attend event’ for everybody in the industry.”

Parc du Futuroscope is just 1 hour and 20 minutes from Paris on the high-speed TGV train. With almost 40 million visitors since it opened, Futuroscope is one the best-known and best-loved leisure parks in France. With IMAX 3DD, IMAX 3D, Kinemax, Magic Carpet, Omnimax Dome, and Solido theaters, it offers just about every type of giant screen experience available.

Hopes are that a closing event will be held at La Géode in Paris. Hotel, registration, and other details are still being determined and will be announced soon.
