West Edmonton Mall partners with Hasbro to retheme Galaxyland indoor amusement park

Galaxyland, West Edmonton Mall’s amusement park and Hasbro Inc. have announce a new licensing agreement to develop the first Hasbro themed amusement park in Canada.

Galaxyland is an Entertainment destination for families and thrill seekers from all over the world. It is home to the world’s tallest and longest indoor roller coaster, the Mindbender, as well as the world’s tallest indoor tower ride, the Space Shot.

Galaxyland will undergo a transformation using Hasbro’s iconic portfolio of brands throughout the one hundred and sixty-five thousand square foot indoor amusement park facility. The design will include widely recognized brands such as MY LITTLE PONY, MONOPOLY, G.I. JOE, NERF, PLAY-DOH, BATTLESHIP, OPERATION, and many others.

Hasbro’s brands will come to life with over 25 rides, games and attractions covering an area of three and a half acres. The Park will also feature a unique Hasbro retail experience as well as themed food service establishments for fans of all ages to enjoy. Upon completion, the Park will reopen as “Galaxyland powered by Hasbro”.

“Galaxyland has been providing entertainment to locals and visitors from around the world for more than three decades, and we’re thrilled to bring a number of exciting rides and activities themed to many of Hasbro’s iconic brands,” said Matt Proulx, Vice President of Location Based Entertainment, Hasbro. “When “Galaxyland powered by Hasbro” officially opens, we’re sure that fans and families will get to experience their favorite brands like never before.”

“We are delighted to welcome Hasbro to Galaxyland. Both of our brands represent dynamic family fun and “Galaxyland powered by Hasbro” will combine our amazing rides and attractions with Hasbro’s loved and well-known brands to produce a first-class Entertainment destination.” Said Danielle Woo, General Manager of West Edmonton Mall.

Construction will begin December 2019, with the Grand opening scheduled for the winter of 2020. Galaxyland will remain open throughout the process.
