Heide Park Resort Turns Thirty-Five

Soltau, Germany — The Heide Park Resort is turning 35 on August 18, 2013 and guests are invited to the celebration, with Tobi van Deisner, European champion in balloon modeling, as well as Stelzenlaufern, kids’ entertainment, music and many other activities for the whole family. In addition to the look back look at the history of the Heide Park Resort, there will be a peek  into the future and what unique attraction is coming next season.

The history of the largest family theme park in northern Germany began on August 19, 1978. Heide Park Soltau opened with a total of six rides and welcomed a total of 600,000 guests in its first season. During  its 35-year history, Heide Park developed from a leisure and wildlife park to a resort with over 50 attractions, shows, the Piraten hotel and the holiday camp. And there are exciting attractions to experience this year: from Europe’s highest and fastest wooden coaster, Colossos to Krake, Germany’s first Dive-Coaster and the new show  “Madagascar Live! ”

This birthday season, a special walk will tell the history of Heide Park. Together with the Fan Club Heide-Park -World, through August 18, a total of 14 signs with pictures and backgrounds from the history of the Heide Park Resort have been created and placed in different locations throughout the park. In addition, a limited edition anniversary publication with additional information and photos will be available at the Heide Park Resort.
