As new hotel construction begins, Holiday Park continues its mission to add waterpark

After the municipal council of Hassloch decided on Wednesday, December 15 to build a municipal indoor pool on the site of the existing “bath park”, the Holiday Park continues with its plans for its own water park next to the park entrance.

Our Executive Board wants to drive growth in Germany as quickly as possible. The financial resources for this have been available for a long time. However, we still wanted to keep our door open and wait for the decision of the municipality of Hassloch,” says Steve Van den Kerkhof, Managing Director of the Plopsa Group, the parent company of the Holiday Park. Together with the hotel for which the approval process has just begun, the waterpark will be another building block for the development towards a multi-day destination.

Bernd Beitz, Director Germany, responsible for the Holiday Park: “We very much regret that the cooperation between the Holiday Park and the municipality does not come about. With our offer, we have presented the most economical alternative to the new construction of the bathing park, from which all four sides, the municipality, Holiday Park, taxpayers and the Hassloch citizens, would have benefited. From the very beginning, we have also continued our plans for a private bathroom without the participation of the municipality.”

With the start of construction of the hotel, the Holiday Park will submit a building application for the water park as the next step. The plans include a 4,000 square meter (43,000 square foot) themed indoor area with a wave pool with thunderstorm effects, a white water river, several children’s pools, a water playground, various whirlpools, several slides and a sports pool as well as an outdoor area with another pool open all year round.
