Holovis designs AV and interactive media for Madame Tussauds’ Justice League attraction

Madame Tussauds Orlando has unveiled Justice League™: A Call for Heroes walk-through attraction where guests can engage with the superheroes and bring their powers to life through interactive sequences using combinations of projection mapping, enhanced audio and SFX. This level of interaction with the wax figures is one of the most immersive and unique experiences ever produced by the Madame Tussauds brand worldwide.

Experience designer Holovis has worked with the Merlin Magic Making team, the creative division of Merlin Entertainments, parent company to Madame Tussauds, to design, produce and deliver the AV, show lighting and interactive elements of Justice League: A Call for Heroes. The Holovis media team created the bespoke immersive content and show scenes, working with the iconic IP from the 2017 Warner Bros film.

Within the experience, LexCorp’s experimental technology has gone haywire and is threatening the world! The Justice League needs the help of the guests to save innocent civilians while figuring out a way to stop Lex Luthor’s out-of-control experiment before it’s too late. Guests accept the mission and step into Metropolis and Gotham City to help the legendary DC Super Heroes.

It will take the strength of Wonder Woman’sPOWER GAUNTLETS’ to block the signal of the LexCorp transmission. Guests must harness all of their energies and strike the signature power pose, to create a force strong enough to help Wonder Woman create a great explosion.

LexCorp’s transmission has caused a helicopter to go haywire, and it’s hurtling towards the ground. Guests will need to race into action alongside the Man of Steel to help him lift the helicopter and save it from crashing to the ground. As guests summon all their strength to push upwards, Superman will thrust the helicopter back into the sky. With this amazing feat, guests will be the first to experience a dynamic, fully-articulated Madame Tussauds figure that really move.

But, the battle isn’t over yet. In order to deliver one last, crushing blow to LexCorp, Guests will need to step onto the rooftops of the Gotham City Police Department and use the legendary Bat-S  the rooftop above, ready to save the world.

Jon Tozer, Experience Designer at Holovis explains:“This attraction is breaking the mold for Madame Tussauds by letting guests interact with and star in the attraction alongside the wax figures in a way never before experienced. We believe that the best technology is invisible, facilitating an amazing experience but without the guests being aware of the high-tech environment around them, and that is exactly what has been delivered. Guests are immersed in complex AV and interactive technology, but they remain the star and the focus throughout.”

“You have to see it to believe it!” said James Paulding, General Manager. “From the unbeatable roster of DC Super Heroes to all of the sensational, high-tech elements – this is Madame Tussauds like you’ve never experienced.”

Andy Dauterman, Director of Custom & Theming Projects at Daniel’s Wood Land Inc adds: “We were excited to step up to the challenge of both designing and fabricating the themed environments and interactives, working within extremely tight deadlines. The fully immersive environments are a new offering for the brand and judging by the reactions of all those involved, guests are going to enjoy the attention to detail.”
