Indonesia’s Sea World Park Closes in Midst of Legal Dispute

The Jakarta Post reports:

“Since last week, the Sea World theme park at the Taman Impian Jaya Ancol amusement park complex has halted its commercial operations.

“Pembangunan Jaya Ancol lawyer Iim Zovito Simanungkalit said that based on the contract signed in 1992, PT Sea World’s management period effectively expired in June 2014. However, the company refused both to halt commercial operations and to inform the public of its closure.

“Iim added that Sea World claimed it would continue operations because it assumed the contract would be automatically extended until 2034. (alz)”
