Freehold, N.J. – iPlay America and Encore Event Center, a one-of-a-kind, indoor family amusement park located in Freehold, N.J., announced the promotion of Gary Foley as chief operating officer. Foley, who previously served as General Manager at iPlay America and Encore Event Center, has more than 28 years of experience in the entertainment industry and has played a vital role in the development and grand opening of the entertainment center.
Prior to joining iPlay America, Foley served as general manager at Sahara Sam’s Oasis Indoor Water Park in West Berlin, N.J., where he oversaw the daily operations and prepared for the grand opening of the park. Earlier in his career, he held the role of director of human resources, marketing and operations at Gillian’s Island Water Park & Gillian’s Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, N.J. During his tenure at Gillian’s Island Water Park & Gillian’s Wonderland Pier, his responsibilities included recruiting and training employees, developing policies for the company, managing daily operations and marketing all aspects of the amusement park.
In addition, Foley served as Chairman of the Personnel Committee for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. In 1994, he was recognized with the Best Workshop Award for “Motivate Me,” a workshop he facilitated at the IAAPA Trade Show and Convention.

A resident of Cherry Hill, NJ, Foley has extensive training in amusement park management and has attended courses at Disney University and industry workshops with the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
