Jennifer Nevin Joins Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) as New COO

JenniferNevinBurbank, Calif. USA, November 18, 2013 – The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), the global alliance for the creators of compelling places and experiences, is pleased to announce that veteran association executive Jennifer Nevin has become TEA’s Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Nevin’s appointment comes after an extensive search to replace retiring Executive Director, Gene Jeffers, who departs TEA after 12 years of stewardship and honors.

“Our business community will have an opportunity to meet Jennifer at the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, Nov 19-22,” said TEA president Christine Kerr of BaAM Productions. “I look forward to introducing her, and to leveraging the fresh perspective she brings to the TEA.”

Most recently, Jennifer Nevin served as Director of Operations and Deputy Executive Director for the Hollywood Radio & Television Society in Los Angeles, where she was responsible for producing multiple large events annually, led membership drives and re-alignment of membership programs resulting in a dramatic increase in memberships and revenues. She was responsible for financial oversight, daily functions of the association and marketing and member services.

Nevin remarked that she is excited “…to utilize my non-profit management skills and sales background to increase financial growth and productivity and contribute to the success of the Themed Entertainment Association and its mission. It’s a privilege to help lead an organization that is all about inspiring hope, magic and imagination. The creative work of TEA members has touched people’s hearts through great visitor experiences and attractions everywhere in the world.”

Gene Jeffers

Christine Kerr commented, “Our recruitment committee reviewed more than 100 applications and interviewed a shortlist of very qualified candidates. We were in complete agreement that Jennifer Nevin possesses the skills and experience to move the TEA forward in alignment with our strategic priorities. The transition with Gene Jeffers currently in progress is providing Jennifer an opportunity to learn about our members – now 1,000 strong – and about the industry as a whole.”

Some 1,000 TEA members represent roughly 8,000 creative specialists, from architects to designers, technical specialists to master planners, scenic fabricators to artists, and builders to feasibility analysts working in 30 U.S. states and 40 different countries.
