Audubon Nature Institute is pleased to announce Dr. Kyle Burks as its new Vice President and Managing Director of Audubon Zoo and Park. Kyle was selected from a list of highly qualified candidates from across the country and brings years of experience to Audubon.

“In Kyle, we have found a managing director with impeccable qualifications and sensitivity to the culture and history of Audubon Nature Institute,” said Ron Forman, Audubon Nature Institute President and CEO. “His expertise in animal conservation and welfare, paired with his years of zoo operations experience, will strengthen Audubon’s role as a community leader in saving disappearing species and inspiring young people to care about nature.”

Burks has more than 20 years of broad-based management and animal care experience. His most recent position was Chief Executive Officer of Sacramento Zoo. Kyle also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Denver Zoo and as Insight Integration Manager at The Walt Disney Company. His career uniquely combines animal management with cutting-edge business principles. Kyle earned his Ph.D. and Master’s Degree from Georgia Institute of Technology.

“We look forward to Kyle’s leadership in furthering Audubon’s mission of conservation, education and family recreation when he joins us on July 31,” said Forman.
