Liseberg’s Multi-Inversion Multi-Launch Helix Coaster Opens
Helix is a roller coaster with all the extras! It is not the highest, longest and fastest in the world, but it offers the perfect ride experience.” — Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg.
It was in October 2012 that the news was announced: Liseberg would build a new roller coaster. And not just any roller coaster like anywhere else. This would be a world class first.

Interest during construction has been tremendous. Thousands of eager roller coaster lovers have followed the project day by day on social media. On two occasions,  guided tours took place at the site and hundreds of thousands have already experienced the track virtually online.

Helix is without competition Liseberg’s biggest attraction investment ever. With a price tag of 240 million kroner and a construction period of approximately one and a half years, Helix is a record investment for the park. The result is a 1.38 km long roller coaster that contains all the elements that a roller coaster connoisseur could wish for. The two minutes long ride has two acceleration zones and trains travel at speeds of 100 km/h. Along the way are trips up and down seven times, a pretzel loop, a zero-g-roll, a heart line roll, an inverted top hat and several S-curves. The result? A ride that resulted in top rankings of a unanimous test squad.
