Orlando, FL, USA (September 9, 2015) – Alcorn McBride’s Director of Business Development, Loren Barrows, is serving as co-chair of The Themed Entertainment Association’s annual SATE conference.  A unique, professional conference on Experience Design for the international themed entertainment industry, SATE 2015 will be held September 17-18 on the Carnegie Mellon University campus, Pittsburgh PA, UA. Tickets/more info: www.teaconnect.org.

SATE debuted in 2007 to foster dialog in the business community about the methodology of Experience Design.  SATE stands for Storytelling + Architecture + Technology = Experience.  The two-day conference is dedicated to exploring how those elements combine to create meaningful places, experiences and events.

Alcorn McBride has been a member of The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) for more than 20 years.  Numerous members of the Alcorn McBride staff have taken active roles within the TEA Eastern North America Division including Board positions.

Barrows is the first Alcorn McBride executive to act as co-chair of the annual SATE conference.  Her fellow co-chair is Shirley Saldamarco, President of Interactive Media Productions and a faculty member of Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center.

“I’m honored and excited to participate alongside Shirley in SATE 2015,” says Barrows.  “The theme this year is ‘Experience: Change the rules, be disruptive and explode the experience.’  SATE will present new and inventive ways to extend the experience before, during and after the main event within a visitor attraction or guest experience.”

“We expect this to be one of the best SATEs ever,” adds Saldamarco.  “Get ready for one amazing ride!”

Barrows and Saldamarco’s role as SATE Co-Chairs includes overseeing the content development, including recruiting and collaborating with four segment chairs, each  responsible for one of the four conference topics: Linda Smith of Smithink (for Storytelling), Anthony Van Dam of Forrec (Architecture), Paul Kent of Electrosonic (Technology) and Cory Rouse of Walt Disney Imagineering (Experience).
