Alice Mathu promoted to VP Exhibitions, Conferences and Sales at IAAPA

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) announced Alice Mathu has been promoted to vice president of exhibitions, conferences, and sales. Mathu will oversee sales and operations for IAAPA’s three global Expos — IAAPA Attractions Expo, Euro Attractions Show, and Asian Attractions Expo — and other IAAPA conferences, meetings, and events around the world. In addition, Mathu will lead IAAPA’s global sales team including exhibit, advertising, and sponsorship sales.

“During her long-tenured career with IAAPA, Alice has consistently delivered outstanding results to IAAPA members, exhibitors, partners, and team members,” said Hal McEvoy, interim president and CEO, IAAPA. “Her solid performance record, strong partner relationships, and extensive institutional knowledge will position our team for future success as we continue to enhance and evolve our growing Expos and programs around the world.”

With more than a decade of service to IAAPA, Mathu joined the association as an expo and conference coordinator in 2006. She has been promoted through the department to leadership, serving as exhibition sales and services executive, manager, senior manager, and most recently, senior director of sales and exhibitor marketing.

Mathu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in community development with a minor in communications from Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya. She has a certificate in event management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a certificate in exhibition management (CEM) from the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE). She is also a certified meeting professional (CMP) from the Convention Industry Council (CIC).
