426069_10150582101243364_581008660_nOrlando, FL, USA (January 16, 2013) — Lexington Design + Fabrication has entered into an agreement to purchase Orlando, Florida-based Caylex Architectural Millwork and Metal Fabricators.  The deal expands Lexington’s capabilities to the East Coast and beyond. The acquisition allows Lexington to offer competitive quality service to their existing client base in casinos, museums, high definition television environments and high-end retail as well as theme parks, while continuing to service the high quality architectural metal and millwork portfolio Caylex has developed over the past 18 years.

The Lexington/Caylex deal was announced today by Lexington President and CEO Richard Bencivengo, who said “Welcoming Caylex into the Lexington family represents a big win for both companies. The immediate folding-in of our client capability portfolio to that of Caylex in Florida augments our work in the theme park industry and themed business overall.”

Added COO Frank Bencivengo, “This new East Coast presence increases Lexington’s capabilities for creating educational environments, engaging exhibits and interactives, unique architectural features, character lighting and sophisticated custom elements for our diverse client base both nationally and globally.”

Dave Piper, formerly of Studio Third and Main, will be VP and COO of the new operation. Piper has an enduring presence in many of the categories in which Lexington operates, and brings his expertise, his current clients, contacts and experience with him.

Caylex owner Craig Colodny will continue to add his marketing and sales talents to the newly-formed company, participating in marketing the firm’s work throughout South Florida. Colodny says “There is great opportunity in the South Florida market. Lexington Design + Fabrication’s support, depth and breadth of experience will expand Caylex’s reach throughout the state.”
