National Blues Museum Receives Regional Arts Commission Grant for Live Performances

 

The National Blues Museum has announced that the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis (RAC) has awarded the museum a grant of $8,000. The funds will support the Howlin Fridays live performances, which features local and national blues artists at the National Blues Museum.

The Howlin Fridays Concert series are held weekly from 7:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Lumière Place Legends Room at the National Blues Museum. Through these performances, the Museum is committed to delivering low cost and high-quality blues music to the St. Louis community; tourist and a national audience (those that connect via livestream). The artists who perform at the National Blues Museum are representatives of the communities that the Museum serves. The National Blues Museum offers a platform for artists of all ages and races to deliver their craft to public audiences.

“It is an honor for us to be a recipient of this grant from the Regional Arts Commission.” says Dion Brown, Executive Director of the National Blues Museum. “These funds will allow us to continue to celebrate the best blues artist in the industry to our enthusiastic and growing audience.”
