Message from the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum:
The Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum is beginning construction with the historic water/ground breaking for this new interpretive museum. On April 19th we will celebrate a new state of the art facility that will tell the story of the historical Boston Tea Party. The museum is scheduled to open Spring 2012.

“The Museum will include interactive exhibits, actors dressed in period clothing, a Tavern, and Tea Room, as well as a gift shop for guests to explore. The new Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum will feature three traditional tall ships, which will replicate the ships that took part in the original Boston Tea Party, the Beaver, the Dartmouth, and the Eleanor. Historic Master Shipwright Leon Poindexter is currently building the ships in Gloucester.

“To celebrate this monumental event the Press Conference includes Mayor Thomas Menino, a number of State and City officials, members of the business community and actors participating in the reenactment of the dumping of the tea.

“Where: Atlantic Wharf, Boston, at the Corner of Congress St. and Atlantic Ave.

“Who: Historic Tours of America®, through its subsidiary in Boston, is the owner of the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum.
