Ryman Arts teaches classical drawing and painting to talented and motivated high school students as a bridge to a lifetime that expresses and appreciates the arts.

From a single drawing class for 12 students in 1990, Ryman Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has grown to 40 classes for 600 students annually. We offer intensive out-of-school studio art instruction, college and career guidance, art supplies, and support services—all at no cost to the student.

On June 21, Ryman Arts celebrated the hard work of 189 graduates from both of its program sites – Otis College of Art and Design and Cal State Fullerton. The evening was filled with celebration as it welcomed special guest Jacqueline Hamilton, Senior Field Representative, Office of Congressmember Karen Bass, heard speeches from Ryman Arts students, and announced the following award winners:

Lucille Ryman Carroll Student Scholarship: Yezenia Ruiz

Herbert D. Ryman Mentor Award: Albert & Shirley Schmidt

Hani El-Masri Student Artist Award: XiaoXuan (Ivy) Bi

Sharon Disney Lund Master Teaching Artists Award: Manny Cosentino
