Wicked Cyclone Provides New Twists at Six Flags New England

Agwam, MA, USA (May 20, 2015) /PRNewswire/ — Six Flags New England today launched the first hybrid coaster to hit the East Coast – the Wicked Cyclone. The “Coaster Capital of New England” is proud to bring the latest in ride technology and innovation to Massachusetts. The Wicked Cyclone offers the ultimate in thrills and adrenaline by combining the extreme characteristics of both steel and wood. Meteorology students from Western Connecticut State University and celebrity storm chaser Reed Timmer from Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers are among the inaugural riders.

Coaster Highlights:

“As an extreme meteorologist and storm chaser, I’ve intercepted some of the most powerful storms in the world, from violent tornadoes to category 5 hurricanes,” said Reed Teamer, nationally acclaimed storm chaser and featured on Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers. “I CANNOT WAIT to put Wicked Cyclone to the test, this is going to be one wicked ride.”

Wicked Cyclone’s steel track provides riders with a smoother, faster and more intense ride along its 3,320 feet of track than the original Cyclone. The ride stands 10 stories in the sky and reaches speeds of 55 mph. Once the twenty-four thrill seekers board Wicked Cyclone, it quickly climbs the 109 foot hill to then plummet at maximum speeds while providing riders with weightlessness and a truly wicked ride. Wicked Cyclone will be the first coaster of its kind to have two Zero G Rolls. Riders will also experience more airtime than any other coaster in the East Coast on Wicked Cyclone.
