Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, FL, USA (August 22, 2012) — Space Shuttle Endeavor, in foreground, has been removed from the Orbiter Processing Facility and is ready for attachment to a NASA 747 to fly to its new home in Los Angeles, CA in twenty-nine days. It will be parked in the Vehicle Assembly Building in the interim. Space Shuttle Atlantis, in background, will enter the OPF in preparation for retirement and shutdown.
