Shuttle Update

Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, FL, USA (August 22, 2012) — Space Shuttle Endeavor, in foreground, has been removed from the Orbiter Processing Facility and is ready for attachment to a NASA 747 to fly to its new home in Los Angeles, CA in twenty-nine days.  It will be parked in the Vehicle Assembly Building in the interim.  Space Shuttle Atlantis, in background, will enter the OPF in preparation for retirement and shutdown.  It will go on display at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex next year.  Photo courtesy California Science Center/NASA
