S&S introduces new type of coaster experience with AXIS Coaster

S&S Worldwide, Inc. announces a new product to their lineup, the AXIS COASTER.

S&S has reimagined roller coaster dynamics by taking its patented and proven 4D rotating vehicle technology and turned it on a new AXIS. The new AXIS roller coaster delivers deliberate and fluid movements that give the rider a feeling of flying unlike any other ride. This coaster redefines track elements that cannot be replicated by any other ride and creates a highly marketable attraction.

SLIDESHOW:

Preston Perkes, Director of Administration at S&S, said, “This ride has been in the works for 3 years now. It started as a concept from one of our employees and evolved to what we are bringing to the market today. There are things you can do on this coaster that you can’t do on any other ride.” S&S officially unveiled the ride at the 2019 IAAPA Show in Orlando.

Josh Hays, Executive Director of Sales, added, “I am thrilled that we can offer a ride like this to our customers. This is truly an original ride that provides an experience unlike any other to its riders. It’s the kind of ride that people will see on TV and say, ‘I have to ride that!’” AXIS rotates around the axis of the track. That means that the rider could be above the track, below the track or swinging out to either side. And although riders will be surprised by the way the train twists and turns, engineers at S&S have ensured that the vehicle will do exactly what it is designed to do. Axis is available in custom layouts to accommodate a wide variety of space constraints. It can also be designed as a family friendly coaster or a high-thrill ride.

S&S Worldwide is the world’s leading manufacturer of vertical and family thrill rides and the largest U.S. manufacturer of major amusement rides and roller coasters. Since 1994, S&S Worldwide has installed more than 40 roller coasters, 175+ tower rides, 50 family thrill attractions and over 250 children’s rides.
