Technifex advances several longtime staff members into key roles

Technifex, the themed entertainment technology company founded by Monty Lunde, announced the promotion of multiple staff members.

John Polk has been upped from Vice President to Senior Vice President, Executive Producer and will be working with top Themed Entertainment clientele, delivering best-in-class special effects and water feature solutions. Joe Ortiz, celebrating his 28th year at Technifex, moves from Vice President of Engineering into a new role, Senior Vice President of Creative Technologies. Ortiz will be instrumental in bringing together a team of technologist from within and outside of Technifex. This team will develop innovative uses of technologies that solve client’s technical challenges, across various market sectors.

To fill Ortiz’s past role Maurice Aboulache, who for the last 11 years was the manager of Technifex’s engineering department, is promoted to Vice President of Engineering. Aboulache will oversee Technifex’s in-house team of engineers who develop mechanical, flame, water, steam effects and control systems solutions for theme parks, attractions and the countless immersive experiences that Technifex delivers. Our project management team also celebrates the upward movement of Gabriel Wilson to Senior Project Manager and Bill Clare to Project Manager.

A component of Technifex’s growth strategy includes the development of specialized technical training systems through Technifex XR where Executive Vice President Ian MacVittie is leading the charge to create deeply immersive military training environments.  These training systems allow warriors to “train like they fight” and meet real-world mission objectives. With Ortiz’s further contribution of creative technology solutions to enhance VR/AR/XR simulated environments, Technifex is creating training solutions unique for the current marketplace.
