Tricky New Museum Aims to Fool the Eye at Resorts World Sentosa

Singapore — Come mid-2014, Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will be home to the region’s first Trickeye Museum. This new interactive museum will be sited at the integrated resort’s Waterfront. Occupying an area of 800 square metres, the museum will feature six theme zones, with 80 three-dimensional paintings and optical illusion masterpieces.

“Trickeye” is derived from the French compound word – Trompe-l’oeil – meaning ‘trick of the eye’.
Guests visiting this museum can expect paintings that stimulate creativity and imagination techniques
through their vision. Not only will they see with their eyes, the museum requires the active participation
of guests to become subjects within the masterpieces.

The six zones will cover the themes of Love, Circus, Masterpiece, Safari, Fairytale and Adventure. The works displayed will also blend together cultures of East and West in interesting ways, reflecting the melting pot culture of Singapore.

Ms. Sujin Seong, Director of Trickeye Museum said, “Since we initiated this popular concept in Seoul
back in 2010, we have always aimed to expand the footprint of Trickeye beyond the shores of Korea. As
a key tourism hub, Singapore was the obvious choice, and Resorts World Sentosa is a prime spot to set
up our first overseas venture. We believe that Trickeye Museum will complement the resort’s existing
offerings and provide more compelling reasons for tourists from around the world to come visit.”

Trickeye Museum will be one of the anchor tenants at the Resort’s Waterfront, and Mr. Goh added that,

forward to enjoying even more unique moments and experiences when they visit our Resort, where
there is something for everyone in the family.”

Looking ahead for 2014, the Resort will continue to push into secondary cities in its key markets and roll
out campaigns throughout the year to attract repeat visitations from locals and nearby markets
including Malaysia and Indonesia.

Trickeye museum first opened in Seoul in December 2010 and has welcomed more than a million
visitors to date. It has since opened two other museums in popular tourist locations of Busan and Jeju,
and established itself as a leading art gallery in Korea.
