Washington DC, USA — The ULI Global Awards for Excellence define the standard for real estate development practice worldwide. In its 34th year, the program is the centerpiece of ULI’s efforts to identify and promote best practices in all types of real estate development. The awards recognize the full development process of a project—construction, economic viability, marketing, and management, as well as design.

The ULI Global Awards for Excellence honor development projects from around the world. Entrants from all regions are welcome in this competition.

The third annual ULI Urban Open Space Award celebrates and promotes the creation of transformative and thoughtful public open spaces both big and small. The award was made possible through the generosity of Amanda Burden, winner of the 2009 ULI J.C. Nichols Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development. This award is not meant to be a landscape architecture or urban design prize; rather it is intended to honor the impact of the open space—from the look and feel of the space and how intensively it is used to its economic and social impact on adjacent communities.

The ULI Awards jury will select up to five finalists and one winner of the award, which comes with a $10,000 cash prize. The ULI Urban Open Space Award welcomes entries located in an urbanized area in North America.
