Vortex Water Journey Awarded 2016 MVP from Aquatics International Magazine

Montreal, QC, Canada — Vortex Aquatic Structures International, a manufacturer and world leader in aquatic play landscapes and entertainment solutions, has announced that its Water Journey™ aquatic play solution, has won a 2016 MVP Award from Aquatics International Magazine.

Voted by readers as one of the industry’s best products, Water Journey provides landscape architects and designers new opportunities to create multi-generational inclusive play and relaxation areas. Created to imitate nature’s flowing streams, Water Journey’s collection of four events provide both an interactive experience for children and a communal meeting place for parents as they gather to play, socialize or just contemplate or watch water on its journey downstream.

Water Journey has received significant industry recognition already. In 2015, it received a GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Award and a Good Design Award by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies

“With Water Journey, we allow users to engage with different life-like stream behavior as water encounters creeks, flood plains, ripples and cascades. Users can manipulate and coordinate many game features that encourage imaginative play. Children can play with water but not necessarily get wet,” said Vortex President and CEO, Stephen Hamelin. “Since the beginning, Vortex has emphasized the need to innovate and push the boundaries of design when it comes to aquatic play experiences.”

Vortex had previously won an MVP award in 2015 for its Watermark product, a cutting-edge interactive centerpiece feature that creates patterns and words by manipulating the flow of water.
