Weber Group Builds Viking Battering Ram as Entrance to Busch Gardens’ InvadR

Weber Group, a Design+Build company located in Sellersburg, Indiana unveils their craftsmanship when Busch Gardens – Williamsburg. The amusement park, owned by SeaWorld, debuts InvadR their first wooden coaster in the New France section of the park on Friday, April 7.

Weber Group’s artists built the 20-foot tall entry portal which replicates a Viking themed Battering Ram. The “making-of” this iconic piece took eight weeks and over 650 man hours in the Weber Shop in Southern Indiana.

“The folks from Weber Group were a pleasure to work with from beginning to end,” said Suzy Cheely, director of design and engineering at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA. “People who have seen previews of InvadR are already commenting on the quality of the theming elements and how the realm as a whole fits in so well into the park’s New France village.”

Weber Group has 70 full time employees. We Design+Build immersive environments that enhance the guest experience. Weber works for a variety of clients including Disney, Six Flags, SeaWorld, NASA and locally – The Louisville Zoo, The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, and currently Frazier’s upcoming outdoor renovations.
