WhiteWater and the Psychology of Play

Mike Rigby, Geoff Chutter, Una de Boer, Martin Palicki

Una de Boer from WhiteWater explained the company’s renewed focus on the psychology of play. The company’s No Boundaries product is an example of how this philosophy manifests itself in the experiences they create.

There are four types of “play” and everyone falls into at least one category, although many people exhibit multiple traits.

WhiteWater is encouraging parks and operators to think about how they can be playful and if they can understand the psychology of play better then it will lead to a better guest experience. By providing activities that appeal to the different types of play personalities they can ensure everyone has fun at their park.

During EAS, WhiteWater also hosted a client party at a rooftop bar in downtown Berlin. Delightful canapés and cocktails were enjoyed by guests as they looked over the Berliner Dom and enjoyed the cool evening air.
