Davie, FL, USA /BUSINESS WIRE/ — On Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6, a new era in arts education and entertainment was unveiled at the grand opening of the new 55,000 square-foot Young At Art Museum and Broward County Library in Davie, Fla. As one of the most unique and exciting facilities in the nation, the new Young At Art Museum offers a holistic approach to artistic learning where exhibit galleries, art studios and a library coalesce into a singular and enriching arts-based learning experience.

Young At Art Museum features four permanent, themed galleries: GreenScapes, which encourages children and adults to reconnect with nature by discovering the potential of art to call attention to environmental issues; CultureScapes, which celebrates and brings new understanding of our culturally diverse world through the eyes and art of contemporary artists; WonderScapes, a world of imagery dedicated to childhood development through art, literacy and play; and ArtScapes, which provides a thematic journey of art history where art crosses time, place and culture.

Visitors also enjoy the unique YAA Institute, Showcased-Artist Studios/Installations, a National Traveling Exhibition Gallery, a Teen Center and Recording Studio, a Museum Gift Shop, the Toss Up Salads Café and a 10,000 square-foot Broward County Library. A preschool and early childhood learning center will offer parents an arts-based curriculum for their young children.

The Museum is under consideration for Gold LEED-certification status by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Young At Art Museum is the culmination of a successful public-private sector partnership. Major capital campaign donors include Broward County and the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, Broward County Cultural Division, David and Francie Horvitz Family Foundation, Institute of Museum & Library Services, Town of Davie, John S. & James L. Knight Foundation, BankAtlantic, Hudson Family Foundation, Huizenga Family Foundation, State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, Craig Zinn Automotive Group, Ezratti Family, Broward County Solid Waste and Recycling Services, Whole Foods Market, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and IKEA Sunrise.
