Milan, Italy (June 26, 2014) — The U.S. Pavilion for Expo Milano 2015 is moving along.  Groundbreaking will take place next month according to Expo officials and fundraising is on track according to the State Department.  The Pavilion will be freestanding structure and has been designed by architect James Biber.   The Chief Creative Officer for the Pavilion is Michael Davis of the James Beard Foundation.  With a budget of over $40 million, all of which is being raised from the private sector, the, U.S. Pavilion project team states it will “showcase America as an important leader and innovator not only in the food sector, but in all aspects of culture, science and business. The simple act of growing an apple, transporting it, transforming it, consuming it, enjoying it, and dealing with its waste engages a massive infrastructure, advanced technologies, and dynamic systems that touch on just about every aspect of the world we live in. Each step along this path represents a set of values and interconnections that allow us to introspect and innovate in society.

“Using state-of-the-art digital media and interactive technology, the first ever truly global, social-media-integrated USA Pavilion will highlight American industry, talent, products, ingenuity, and entrepreneurship within the context of sustainability, health, consumption, technology, and innovation. Our official partnership with Italy will position the U.S. as a destination for business, entrepreneurship, and travel. The USA Pavilion will reveal how the U.S. is exploring innovative solutions to our own, as well as the world’s, social and economic challenges.”
