ProSlide, a global leader in water ride design and engineering, has announced the launch of PowerRAPIDS, a groundbreaking family raft attraction. Designed in response to the evolving expectations of today’s families, PowerRAPIDS delivers a high-energy ride experience that feels alive – immersive, dynamic, and built for modern multi-generational storytelling.
Unveiled by ProSlide President Ray Smegal during the company’s IAAPA Expo 2025 press conference in Orlando, PowerRAPIDS continues the company’s legacy of innovation and family connection that began over 30 years ago with the world’s first family raft ride at Disney’s Blizzard Beach. This new chapter builds on ProSlide’s history of pioneering family attractions while introducing a more active, more dynamic, and more emotionally resonant experience for today’s guests.
“Family attractions are evolving, and parks need something new to meet that shift,” said Smegal. Families are the heart of every water park, and “PowerRAPIDS brings them together through a high-energy adventure that balances real motion, cinematic pacing, and authentic storytelling – something only ProSlide can deliver,” said Smegal confidently.

A New Level of Motion and Immersion
PowerRAPIDS combines the pulse of a family river rafting adventure with the flow and emotion of a themed journey. Riders surge through smooth waters that build tension before dropping into undulating rapids as they transition between open and enclosed flume runs. The ride creates rhythm, anticipation, and energy from start to finish.
The course features tight directional changes, dynamic boulder shaping, and a high-volume water flow that produces playful turbulence, waves, and a natural, living-river feel – thrilling yet approachable for all generations. This blend of intensity and accessibility supports the modern family’s desire for deeper interaction and shared adventure.
Operational Efficiency Meets Immersive Design
PowerRAPIDS is engineered with park operators in mind. The ride, which entertains up to 1,800 riders per hour, eliminates stagnant water, streamlines start-up and maintenance, and uses an operational model more akin to a water slide than a lazy river. CCTV integration and strategic operator stations provide efficient monitoring and simplified control throughout the attraction.
Its forward-looking design reflects the same commitment to innovation that defined the success of HIVE, launched by ProSlide 12 months earlier – demonstrating the company’s momentum in delivering the next generation of high-energy, storytelling-focused water rides.
Coming 2026
The world’s first PowerRAPIDS will debut February 2026 at Aquatopia Water Park, Vietnam, marking the beginning of a new chapter in ProSlide’s family attraction portfolio. Learn more at www.proslide.com/rides/powerrapids.
