Experience economy software developer and app innovator Convious has expanded its senior management team with the appointment of Werner Dullmaier, Managing Director for DACH, and Tom Benner as Chief Marketing Officer.
Dullmaier joins Convious with extensive experience in the leisure industry having held positions within Merlin Entertainments for over 18 years. As well as holding the position of Director of Operations for LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort and as General Manager for SEA LIFE Aquariums, with his expertise covering product management, sales and marketing, and business strategy.
After leaving Merlin, Dullmaier set up his own consultancy specializing in destination optimization covering infrastructure, product excellence, and marketing to ensure high-quality guest experiences and streamlined operations.
Convious has seen rapid growth in the German market over the last three years, driven by the move to digital infrastructure, the increase in popularity of attraction destinations, and the amount of time guests are now spending there, with weekend breaks gaining popularity over day trips.
Dullmaier will be expanding operations and growing the business for Convious in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Dullmaier explains: “From my past experience, I know first-hand exactly what our partners and prospects are looking for from their eCommerce platforms. I understand the challenges they are facing, how we can help solve them, and the optimum timing for this type of investment.
“The digital market in Germany has grown exponentially over the last three years in all sectors, with everyone now used to using their mobile devices to book and download tickets. Convious is a dynamic, young company that has been taking the market by storm. I’m looking forward to working with and growing the team to gain greater traction and more market share.”
Benner joins the company as Chief Marketing Officer. He has worked at the cutting edge of marketing, sales and platform management for over 20 years. His previous experience includes a focus on Cloud products and the development of SaaS models for companies that were on aggressive growth paths and are now global market leaders.
He specializes in working with start and scale-up businesses to ensure the correct ‘go to market’ strategies and processes are in place to get the desired results.
Benner explains: “I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge from other sectors into the leisure and attractions industry. Convious is a company that is scaling and growing quickly, driven by evolution of the guest journey and the need to ensure a digital solution. I will be working to make sure we have the processes in place to support our partners and future prospects as they embark on the next phase of their digital transformation, guided by our expertise.
Camiel Kraan, Founder and CEO of Convious says: “This expertise and level of experience are what we need to continue our growth as we head into the next phase of our journey and — for many of our partners — their first full operating season. A seamless, mobile-first end-to-end digital journey is now crucial for destinations to deliver high-end customer experiences and capitalise on conversions.
“The appointment of both Dullmaier and Benner is an exciting time as we continue our fast expansion across the German market. Many of our partners are based in Germany so having representation within these regions will help to make transitions seamless for our partners, bringing a wealth of knowledge both from the industry and from outside that we can implement to make our product and our service stronger. We are looking forward to strengthening partnerships within the DACH region and seeing where the future takes us”.
