ETC introduces new DALI-2 certified Gateway device

ETC announces the new Response DALI Gateway MK2, a DALI-2 certified device developed to meet the growing demand for DALI applications throughout North America and beyond. The gateway features a web interface enabling quick setup and status management of fixtures or devices. The Response DALI Gateway Mk2 is DIN-mounted and converts DMX or sACN to DALI. Each device Gateway supports four subnets, each with an integrated bus power supply.

For decades, 0-10V dimming has become the familiar default in North America. As LED lighting becomes standard and buildings demand greater flexibility and long-term durability, installing lighting systems based on familiarity is no longer necessary. DALI is at the center of new and emerging conversations about lighting control systems.

LEDs are digital devices, and DALI control acknowledges them for what they are. Instead of sending fluctuating voltages and hoping every fixture responds the same way, DALI sends clear, digital commands.

With DALI, a single control bus can support up to 64 drivers and multiple control groups. For facility teams, DALI systems can report when a driver goes offline or a fixture fails, often before anyone even notices. In larger buildings, visibility saves time and labor.

DALI is an open protocol, and all certified devices work with all compliant controllers. DALI-2 certification ensures integration through third‑party verification. For ETC, this coincides with a long‑standing commitment to open standards and customer choice.

DMX continues to be essential where speed and theatrical precision are required. But in architectural and commercial environments, such as schools, airports, offices, healthcare facilities, and hospitality venues, DALI integrates into how buildings are designed, installed, and operated.
