First Intamin Ultra Surf opens at Six Flags Over Georgia

On March 15, Six Flags Over Georgia opened “Georgia Gold Rusher,” the world’s first Intamin Ultra Surf. This ride offers a unique experience with airtime and powerful launches within a compact footprint.

Georgia Gold Rusher: An airtime machine

Georgia Gold Rusher delivers a ride experience with a large amount of weightlessness and airtime moments. First, this is achieved through the airtime hill and two beyond vertical, ejector intense gravity stall ramps with a height of 44 meters (144.4 feet). Second, the free-spinning, spin-incited vehicles offer a unique sensation of floating and spinning through the air, making each ride different from the last resulting in a highly re-rideable experience.

With its shuttle-style coaster design on a compact footprint, riders can enjoy up to 600 meters of experienced track on just 180 meters of physical track.

Intamin’s innovations in the “Surf family”

The vehicles feature the comfortable and popular Intamin over-the-shoulder lap bar, allowing for maximum freedom and comfort.

In addition, the Ultra Surf utilizes Intamin’s water-cooled LSM launch system. Vehicles can reach speeds of up to 95 km/h (59 mph) and delivers a powerful acceleration from the very first push. On top of that, the smooth ride experience is further enhanced by a simpler and wider track design, which requires less supporting structure.

Finally, the ride is enhanced by a water effect that interacts with the ride, creating an impressive splashdown moment for both riders and spectators alike.
