Game Volt introduces The Arena interactive live gaming platform

Game Volt, the product division from the creative technologies at CDTR, has launched The Arena, a 5m x 5m / 16’ x 16’ transparent platform that delivers multiple technology enhanced, fast paced, interactive competitive experiences for F&B and leisure destinations.

Game Volt creates social gaming environments that through high spectator value are proven to increase dwell time and deliver strong ROI through repeatability and secondary spends. The Arena follows the huge success of its Supercharged Shuffle, a technology infused interactive version of a classic table shuffleboard, which is currently being rolled out to Dave & Buster’s locations across North America and leisure destinations globally.

The Arena has been designed to take competitive socialising in F&B, family, leisure and retail destinations to the next level. It seamlessly blends physical tactile gameplay with digital environments, delivering all of the magic but with none of the friction.

The compact 5m x 5m / 16’ x 16’ footprint delivers a high spectator value through its fully transparent exterior, which allows up to eight players to participate for a duration of 10 – 60 minutes, whilst other guests in the venue follow all the action of the group, encouraging them to book.

Inside, the highly versatile unit features intuitive and invisible tracking technologies that combine with fully immersive media, audio and tactile solutions to deliver the futuristic gaming experiences. This includes seven interactive systems to map the guests in the environment, track gameplay and automatically collate points, including an interactive LED floor, interactive walls, lidar scanning, automated mechanisms for delivering physical objects and gesture tracking.

The Arena is launching with eight games designed to appeal to all preferences, including high energy, mental ability and skill-based experiences, with more in development to take the playbook to 20 by mid 2024. Guests can select the games they want to play and with multiple levels and settings ensuring that experiences are accessible for all and that the gameplay is continually evolving, The Arena drives repeat footfall to beat high scores.

With all the action being delivered through intuitive and invisible systems, The Arena does not need a dedicated operator as all games within the highly tactile and diverse space automatically reset, further enhancing the ROI.

Peter Cliff, at CEO / Founder at Game Volt explains: “The Arena is a heads up not heads down experience that brings to life engaging challenges that combine mental ability with physical agility to deliver a constantly evolving stream of repeatable experiences. The Arena may appear to be empty at first glance, but inside we have combined a series of emerging technology innovations that enable natural and intuitive gameplay for maximum fun without being distracted by the technology and minimal operator requirements.

“We believe that The Arena is the future of social gaming. It provides those Instagrammable moments and will continue to evolve with IP collaborations, new games and advancing levels to keep guests coming back for more.”

The Arena will first be live in North America at Dave & Buster’s locations, delivered as part of a long-term partnership and an initial exclusivity deal with the brand for Family Entertainment Centres.
