Historic Coney Island B&B Carousell Finalist for Preservation Grant

The Coney Island Development Corporation needs your help to bring the historic B&B Carousell back to Coney Island! All it takes is 30 seconds. Click here to vote now!

The B&B Carousell is one of 40 historic sites in NYC that has been selected by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to participate in Partners for Preservation (PIP), a social media-based program which provides preservation grants for local historic places.

The B&B Carousell is an important piece of Coney Island history as the sole-surviving carousel from Brooklyn’s Golden Age of carousel construction when Coney was home to more than 25 hand-carved carousel attractions. The carousel is currently in Marion, Ohio with a team of carousel restoration experts who are restoring it. The B&B will return to Coney Island in 2013 in a newly constructed carousel pavilion that will be built in Steeplechase Plaza.
