Nickelodeon Universe celebrates 15 years of slime-filled fun at Mall of America as Wednesday, March 15 marks the theme park’s birthday. Fifteen years ago, Mall of America and Nickelodeon teamed up to create the first ever Nickelodeon Universe indoor theme park which opened on March 15, 2008. Since then, millions of guests have visited this destination to enjoy the 27 different rides and attractions that the park has to offer. The seven-acre theme park is home to many beloved Nickelodeon character favorites including SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Fairly OddParents, PAW Patrol, and more.

To celebrate, Nickelodeon Universe and Mall of America will host a variety of Nickelodeon-themed events throughout the year.

Kids’ Choice Awards Pre-Party + Watch Party
Mall of America will be hosting a pre-party before the the 2023 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award. Guests are encouraged to stop by for free specialty slime tattoos, character meet and greets, crazy hair stations, a DIY slime station, take-home viewing party swag bags, and even more. Mall of America will also be streaming the Kids’ Choice Awards on the big screen for those that want to stick around after the pre-party.

Toddler Tuesdays LIVE: Nickelodeon Universe 15th Birthday Party
Families are invited to enjoy a Nickelodeon-themed celebration at Toddler Tuesdays LIVE with character meet and greets, balloon artists, exciting giveaways, treats, and so much more. This event is free and open to the public.

SpongeBob SquarePants Storyboard Artists
The animators from the iconic show, SpongeBob SquarePants, will be at Mall of America and Nickelodeon Universe showing off their skills in celebration of the 15th birthday. The artists will be streaming their drawings on the video screen on Wednesday, March 15 in the Huntington Bank Rotunda for guests to watch live. Nickelodeon fans will also be able to experience the storyboard artists on Thursday, March 16 and Friday, March 17 in the park for special character drawings throughout the day.
Nickelodeon Universe 15th Birthday
This day marks 15 years of Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America. To celebrate, there will be live sketch artists that will be taking the stage for guests to watch as their creations come to life. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the artists, as well as festive giveaways, exclusive character meet and greets, and treats.

Nickelodeon Universe 15th Birthday Celebration
Guests are invited to embrace all the Nickelodeon fun with music performances by Koo Koo Kanga Roo and School of Rock. The birthday party will also include live sliming on stage, character meet and greets, yummy treats, and fabulous décor.
