Philanthropic Foundation Set to Announce Major Gift to California Science Center to Fund New Air and Space Center

Los Angeles, CA, USA — On May 17, The California Science Center will announce a major gift that will impact the funding goals for the new Air and Space Center which will display the Space Shuttle Endeavour. Jeffrey N. Rudolph, President and CEO of the California Science Center, will be joined by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to announce the foundation whose philanthropy has benefited institutions throughout Los Angeles and Southern California.

The Science Center will receive the Endeavour this fall and begin its ultimate mission to stimulate current and future generations of innovators and explorers. The orbiter will be on temporary display in the Space Shuttle Endeavour Display Pavilion until the new Air and Space Center is completed, tentatively in 2017.
