Worlds of Fun announced that Rick Fiedler has been named vice president and general manager of the park.
Fiedler brings more than 30 years of industry experience to his new position, including more than two decades with Cedar Fair parks. For the past six years, he served as vice president of merchandise and games at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. Prior to that, Fiedler served as director of merchandise at Canada’s Wonderland in Ontario from 2006-2016. He joined the current family of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company parks in 1996 at what was then called Paramount’s Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“Rick is a strategic leader with an impressive track record in financial performance and operational management in retail and games,” said Tim Fisher, Cedar Fair’s chief operating officer. “I’m confident his financial acumen and his leadership role in strategy and planning at Knott’s Berry Farm will enable Worlds of Fun to build upon the park’s legacy of creating fun and lifelong memories for guests. Rick’s experience with festivals and events at Knott’s Berry Farm, including its 100th anniversary celebration in 2021, uniquely positions him to lead Worlds of Fun’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2023.”
