THE SHORT LIST: TEA Summit – 2022 dates and binge 2021 sessions; Spitz wins fulldome award; new tech-based themed entertainment alliance

2021 TEA Thea recipient TAIT Navigator Automation Platform presented during Digital Case Studies event

Dates have been announced for the 2022 TEA Summit, April 21 and 22, and the 2022 TEA Thea Awards on April 23. This marks the first time these Themed Entertainment Association events have taken place in a live event space since 2019. More details to come. In the meantime, the 2021 TEA Thea Awards Digital Case Studies, which run the gamut from pollinators to Sith Lords, is available to binge watch online through the end of October. One ticket grants unlimited access to all six episodes.

Spitz

Spitz Creative Media, a division of Cosm, has won the award for Best Environmental Film for “Atlas of a Changing Earth” at the inaugural Dome Fest West, held Oct 8-12 at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. The film is the third collaboration between Spitz Creative Media, Thomas Lucas Productions, and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, following “Dynamic Earth” and “Birth of Planet Earth.”

Attractions Technology Collaborative

Alcorn McBride, Garner Holt, Weigl Control, Oceaneering, and Christie have announced the formation of the Attractions Technology Collaborative. On October 26 and 27, the group will be unveiling its Attractions Technology Lab. Unlike a traditional trade show booth, this will be a full mockup of a themed experience, with the first Lab focused on a dark ride attraction. The event will take place at Alcorn’s Orlando headquarters.
