Vekoma Rides has completed the first phase of its new campus. On January 27th, employees were welcomed to their new workplace by the construction team. Thanks to the modernly equipped warehouse, assembly hall, and centrally located “backbone” for staff functions, work can now be carried out more efficiently and innovatively in a future-proof environment.
Impressive facilities for growth and innovation
The new facilities offer space and opportunities for further growth and optimization. With an area of over 3,000 square meters (32,290 square feet) and a height of 12 meters (39.5 feet), the new warehouse accommodates thousands of pallet locations. The storage capacity has been quadrupled and is equipped with advanced, semi-automatic Kardex systems, which support efficient and ergonomic working methods.
The assembly hall, measuring 130 meters in length and 28 meters in width, enables Vekoma Rides to execute large projects even more efficiently. Five overhead cranes contribute to a safe and ergonomic working environment, facilitating the assembly of heavy components. This hall also houses the Innovation Center and the Experience Center.
Centrally located between the warehouse and the assembly hall, a high-quality measuring room has been set up for quality control. The latest measuring equipment is used here to ensure the highest quality standards. The backbone offers space for meeting rooms, project rooms, workspaces, and a spacious indoor terrace for relaxation and meetings.
In the coming months, Vekoma Rides will continue to ensure a smooth transition to these new facilities and further optimize processes.
Phases 2 and 3: The next steps into the future
While the relocation of some activities from Schaapweg to Angsterweg is still in full swing, the second and third phases of the campus development are being prepared. In these phases, a sustainable office with approximately 250 workspaces, modern meeting rooms, project rooms, and a restaurant will be realized on Angsterweg. Additionally, a new factory will be built at the Schaapweg location.
