Walibi Investing 100 Million Euros in Redesign of Belgian Park

On the occasion of the first anniversary of PULSAR, Walibi raises a corner of the veil on its very ambitious plan of transformations, unequaled in Belgium. More than 100 million euros will be invested in the Wavrian park, starting next year. The aim is to reconfigure the site, turning it into the model for Belgian amusement parks targeting all ages.

Walibi Belgium will not only add new attractions every year, but will also re-theme each area of the park. At the end of this process, 75% of the park will be changed.

2018 will see the installation of a new family coaster, located near the Challenge of Tutankhamon and the creation of a new exotic look to the area at the bottom of the park. Aqualibi will also be transformed, with the creation of a 700 square meter aquatic playground for younger children, especially children who do not know how to swim. This expansion will allow Aqualibi to reach an area of 7000 square meters, completely immersed in a tropical atmosphere.

In 2019, three other areas will undergo a thematic transformation; Visitors will gradually explore the different worlds created in Walibi, while discovering innovations: an interactive indoor family attraction, a children’s coaster, and a large conceptual restaurant.

2021 will be a landmark year as it will highlight Walibi’s reputation for its thrills, with the arrival of a giant and unique coaster in a completely new area. With this addition, the park will have 10 rollercoasters, which will represent an absolute record in the Benelux. The zone featuring the Werewolf and the Vampire will also experience a redesign.

A family attraction and the redesign of the area near the Flash Back will complete this important investment plan in 2022, 2023; Aqualibi will also open new slides.

Jean-Christophe Parent, CEO: “This ambitious development plan will allow us to further establish our position as the largest and most sensational Belgian amusement park for visitors of all ages. Walibi has always played a pioneering role in offering its audiences new and unique sensations. We are convinced that in the future, families and young people looking for an exciting day will be satisfied. “
