Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi Celebrates Third Year of Operation with Unique Events

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Solidifying itself as a favorite entertainment destination in the region, Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi saw guests flock to the park throughout its third year of operations to enjoy its offerings. The unique Emirati-themed waterpark celebrates three years of success by reflecting back on key milestones and achievements in 2015, while looking forward to a fun-tastic year ahead for local, regional and international visitors.

Further bringing the iconic Emirati theme of the park to life, new attractions through Legendary Adventures were launched giving visitors a true sense of Arabia. The popular Ladies Night that took a glamorous twist in 2015 and the return of the park’s popular Resident Offer were key elements to the year’s success. Furthermore, 2015 also saw Team UAE clinching the World Flowboarding Championships for the second year in a row, with the world-renowned event being hosted at Yas Waterworld for the third consecutive year.

The third anniversary of Yas Waterworld is the perfect way to kick-start a new year of celebrations, events, offers and announcements for visitors looking for a fun day out. Guests are invited to begin the year on an enjoyable note with the popular Yalla Friends 4-for-3 online offer now set to continue throughout the year, as well as the Resident and Annual Passes offers being available for a limited time in early 2016.

“The park has continued to exceed all of our expectations through 2015, with positive responses from our guests from within the UAE as well as from the region and across the world,” said Tim Mow, General Manager at Yas Waterworld.

“Our world-class offering and thrilling rides, slides and attractions have been instrumental in establishing us as a preferred family-friendly destination in the UAE and the GCC region. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our guests who have been part of our amazing journey for the past three years, and look forward to welcoming new and returning visitors as we announce some more exciting news later this year!”

Key reasons to celebrate Yas Waterworld’s third year of operations:

Legendary Adventures: 2015 saw the Legend of the Lost Pearl being brought to life at Yas Waterworld.  The additions of a live camel and falcon at the Souk, as well as authentic Arabian coffee and dates as you walk in to the park, allowed guests to further immerse themselves into the park’s legend. Additional attractions such as a designated camel riding area and a brand new ‘Legend of the Lost Pearl’ show further provided a truly Emirati waterpark experience.

Ladies Night: Yas Waterworld’s new pearl-themed Ladies Night took off in style in March 2015, seeing a large number of the park’s female guests enjoy the night’s activities such as UV Henna painting and H20 Dance Zone in a private setting. With special celebrations for Eid and the first Emirati Women’s Day adding to the park’s rides, slides and attractions, the night is set to be back by popular demand in March 2016 even bigger and better than ever before.

Cool Schools: Three new programs were added to Yas Waterworld’s successful ‘Cool Schools’ initiative, providing students with a winning combination of education and excitement when visiting Yas Waterworld. With sessions covering park’s Emirati Heritage, Water Preservation and Rollercoaster Technology, the program offers a behind-the-scenes look at Yas Waterworld like no other.

The World Flowboarding Championships: 2015 saw the World Flowboarding Championships take place on Bubbles’ Barrel, the largest FlowBarrel Double sheet wave ride in the world, for the third consecutive year. Team UAE led by Humaid Al-Bloushi, Mohammed Al-Bloushi and Clayton Barker, saw the home team eliminate 60 participants from 10 countries across the world and being crowned World Flowboarding champions for the second year in a row!

Industry Awards: Yas Waterworld continued to establish itself as a worldwide favorite family destination in 2015, winning four regional and international awards in 2015, including the Traveler’s Choice Award and the Certificate of excellence from the world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor.
