ZooVue Partnering with WAZA for New Global Conservation Website

Jun 16, 2012 Joe Kleiman Uncategorized Comments Off on ZooVue Partnering with WAZA for New Global Conservation Website

Wellington, UK (June 14, 2012) /PRWEB UK/ — ZooVue, in association with the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), are to launch a new concept website, http://www.zoovue.com, which is set to revolutionise global conservation.

The website will provide a focal point where zoos and aquariums can share their conservation projects, animal experiences, breeding programs and more with a global audience. ZooVue will enable zoos and aquariums to join with other leading industry conservationists to communicate current issues as a united voice on a scale never before possible.

Using live streaming via webcams, videos, photos and blogs, ZooVue will allow zoos and aquariums to engage with people worldwide about their favourite animals, extending the zoo experience right into the home. With mobile camera apps for global coverage, time lapse and remote recording systems, ZooVue enables visitors to share experiences and interact via blogs, videos, photos and live cameras. These will also be automatically integrated with social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter.

ZooVue and WAZA are set to launch http://www.zoovue.com at this week’s British & Irish Association of Zoos & Aquariums (BIAZA) Annual Conference 2012. ZooVue are seeking to encourage zoos and aquariums worldwide to join their innovative website, which it is anticipated will become a vibrant online community and an influential forum for conservation issues.

Zoos and aquariums that sign up to ZooVue can expect to benefit from an increased global audience; it is thought that ZooVue could increase unique visitors per month by more than 100,000. This increase in online traffic has the potential to drive up visitor footfall and provide a new revenue stream for donations.

Whilst the project is currently in the first phase of its development, ZooVue is already home to popular attractions such as Dudley Zoo, Paignton Zoo, Edinburgh Zoo and Bristol Zoo Gardens.

“ZooVue provides us with access to a wide ranging audience across the globe and allows us the opportunity to create awareness about out important conservation projects here at DZG which would otherwise not be possible on such a large accessible scale,” said Julia Locket, Dudley Zoological Gardens.

Visitors to the website can currently view live streaming video of the day to day habits of animals such as Yang Guang, the male Giant Panda at Edinburgh Zoo. Other webcams installed in partner zoos enable visitors to follow the daily lives of penguins, elephants, hippos and chimpanzees. By allowing this unique access to their animal attractions, zoos and aquariums can engage with visitors on a much deeper level than ever before and build guest loyalty outside of normal opening hours.

New features are currently being developed in this exciting new venture from ZooVue which it is hoped will bring a new dimension to conservation and animal attractions worldwide in our ever-more connected world.

Gerald Dick, Executive Director, WAZA, said, “WAZA is proud to partner with ZooVue, the pioneering platform for live stream cameras, videos and other conservation information, thus bringing conservation alive!”
