Creative producer Christopher Wilson is joining Bridgewater Studio as Chief Creative and Operating Officer to help lead the company’s expansion. Bridgewater Studio is a fully integrated design and fabrication company that creates experiences for major brands, cultural institutions, retailers, and film and television productions.
Wilson has over 35 years of expertise in exhibition and experience design. He comes to Bridgewater Studio from the Obama Presidential Center, where he was Director of Planning and Design for the museum. Wilson also spent 11 years at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, where he oversaw the creation of popular exhibits including Science Storms and MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition. Wilson’s career has spanned storytelling, technology, art and science in settings that include museums, theaters, film, television, theme parks and special events.
Bridgewater Studio brings the entire experience design and fabrication process under one roof in a streamlined approach that simplifies the production process. With a 15,000-square-foot workshop in Chicago’s McKinley Park neighborhood and a 45,000-square-foot production studio in Back of the Yards, the studio founded by Eric Cup, Patrick Justice and Chris Cleek create displays, exhibitions and brand activations for clients including artist Hebru Brantley, Shedd Aquarium, Nike, Mattel, McDonald’s, Facebook, LinkedIn, CapitalOne and the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago.
In his new role, Wilson will drive growth across the studio’s streamlined project lifecycle, from ideation to installation.
“I’m excited to join Bridgewater Studio as they expand their capabilities to bring their creative vision to life for their clients,” Wilson said. “I’m especially passionate about inclusive design and believe that truly great experiences have no weak links. Every beat in a story, every detail in a visitor’s journey, matters. Meshing that ethos with Bridgewater’s customer-first, nimble and vertically integrated production methodology is a recipe for success.”
“We founded Bridgewater Studio out of a deep passion for technology and creation, and we’ve continued to evolve to provide seamless, vertical integration that best meets our clients’ needs,” said Cup. “With Chris’s added leadership, we know we’ll be able to increase our ability to deliver unforgettable experiences with a consistently smooth process for clients.
