After months of building, theming, and testing, VALKYRIE began to welcome guests at Festyland starting Saturday, April 4, 2026.
A project born from Norman expertise: Festyland and over 30 companies joined forces
VALKYRIE is above all, a journey human and local. Altogether, more than fifty people –engineers, workers, technicians, carpenters, set designers, artists – joined forces for over a year to bring this attraction to life. Construction relied on the expertise of around thirty companies, most of them from Normandy, who contributed at every stage: civil engineering, carpentry, wooden structures, electrical work, set design, special effects, lighting, landscaping, and more. The Festyland technical team, at the heart of the project, oversaw coordination, thematic integration, finishing touches, fine-tuning, and adapting the attraction right in the center of the park.
A journey between sky and earth
Long ago, Valkyries would appear from stormy skies to lead heroes on their path to Valhalla. Today, the Valkyries – divine warriors from Norse legend – are reborn at Festyland through VALKYRIE, a ride blending thrills, immersion, and emotion.
Mystery, haunting voices, ancient relics, runic symbols – from their very first steps, guests are swept into a world, building up to the moment when the Lost Wings of the Valkyries soar once more.
With VALKYRIE, Festyland isn’t just revealing something new – the park invites families to embark on an epic journey, where myth and reality meet and everyone becomes part of an adventure.
Created in collaboration with the Dutch ride manufacturer Vekoma, VALKYRIE launches from the Viking zone and races across the park from end to end. Its track weaves between existing attractions, soaring above walkways. VALKYRIE marks a major milestone for the park, both in technical ambition and immersive design.
