Limoges, Canada – On June 28 2011 Calypso waterparklaunched its new attraction, the Summit Tower. Featuring 10 new waterslides, each more impressive than the next, and a total height of 10 storeys, the new Summit Tower is the tallest free-standing waterslide tower in North America.

After only a year of operation, the company invested $5 million in this spectacular new attraction. “The addition of this new aquatic complex is our answer to the tremendous success we had during the 2010 summer season, explains Guy Drouin, Calypso’s president and CEO. Summit Tower features 10 new waterslides in a single tower; it’s practically a whole other waterpark in itself.”

Summit Tower features 10 waterslides that offer something for the entire family:

The Accelerators, first of their kind, consist in four 90-feet (28 metres) tall high-speed slides, two of which include toboggan boats with four person and two with double inner tubes.

Designed for thrill seekers, the AquaLoops, a Canadian exclusivity, are two slides where adrenaline and centrifugal force are combine to give swimmers an unforgettable experience. The ride starts in an enclosed cabin with a trap door. At the signal, the floor suddenly opens and swimmers are “dropped in a vertical freefall” at a height of 55 feet (17 metres), then follow a roller coaster-like ride with a 2.5 G loop.

The Family Twisters, four coiled waterslides with translucent and closed-off sections at a height of 30 feet (9 meters). Families will love sliding down the AquaSnake, Pigtail, Mellow Yellow and Twist & Shout.
