InfoComm China Ends Successful Run With Substantial Attendance Increase Over Prior Year

InfoComm China 2017 completed its three-day run at the China National Convention Centre on April 14, registering marked growth in every aspect of the show. Attendance at the three-day exhibition registered a record 20.3-percent increase compared to 2016, with total visitor count clocked at 32,074.

Another measure of the success of the show was the record number of exhibitors. More than 300 companies participated in InfoComm China 2017, including 95 first-time exhibitors, solidifying its position as the premiere showcase of professional audiovisual (pro-AV) and experiential communications technologies in Asia Pacific.

“We are extremely pleased with the overwhelming response by exhibitors and visitors to this year’s show,” said Richard Tan, Executive Director of InfoCommAsia. “We are heartened to note that an increasing number of exhibitors are using InfoComm China as their preferred platform to launch first-to-Asia products and solutions. The feedback we have received from both exhibitors and visitors was positive, validating the show’s value proposition as one of the key components in the digital transformation ecosystem.”

In line with the vibrancy of the exhibition, the Summit was equally successful in generating robust, intensive and wide-ranging discussions on challenges facing the education, entertainment, smart home, smart city, smart hotel and information technology industries. Over the three days of Summit, 5,006 delegates participated in a total of 49 sessions, which provided insights and in-depth expositions on a wide spectrum of topics ranging from Internet of Things, AR/VR and the impact of digitalization on pro-AV and experiential communications technologies. The InfoComm China Summit once again delivered a rich and engaging learning experience for all delegates.

A distinctive hallmark that differentiates InfoComm China and contributes to its continued success is the wide range of industry and technology forums that were organized to explore and share knowledge on technological trends impacting diverse industry verticals. The IT Industry Forum, InfoComm China’s first collaboration with China InfoWorld Magazine, proved to be a hit with attendees judging by the robust and enthusiastic discussions on virtual reality (VR) applications for business transformation.

Another well-received forum was the Smart City Industry Forum jointly organized with Guangdong New Energy Vehicle Industry Association (GDNEVIA), addressing trends in Big Data Analytics and smart traffic management as urban centers transform into Smart Cities. The response from the hospitality industry to the China International Smart Hotel Innovate Conference, jointly organized with China Hotel Association Wisdom, was also very encouraging. Attendees benefited from knowledge and experience of industry leaders.

Other forums that attracted strong attendance included the perennially popular InfoCommAsia University Forum as well as the second edition of the Digital Signage Asia Forum, which saw in-depth discussion on innovative digital signage solutions. “Each year, I look forward to seeing new technologies, new formats in solutions, and exhibitors’ case studies. This year, there were 3D displays, pathfinder applications for vehicle navigation, and new formats in projection technology, all of which were very unique.” said Zhu Boyu, IT Director of Bestory Technology Co, Ltd, who has been visiting InfoComm China the past three years and appreciates its enormous scale.

Lu Hai Feng, Founding Partner of SoCar Data & Consulting, shared, “I first visited InfoComm China last year and benefited much from the show, so I’m here again. The show this year again gave me many creative ideas. I’ve also found a new business partner. I love the inspiration I derive from the show each time I visit. It’s great!”

The higher turnout of visitors, including C-level executives and decision-makers, was a boon for exhibitors who were able to establish stronger and wider network of industry professionals and key vertical-industry end-users. The packed exhibition halls were abuzz with non-stop presentations, discussions and negotiations between providers and enterprise end-users, resulting in more business leads and bigger deal flows.

This year, we took a bigger booth. Besides promoting our products, we even made contact with many potential new partners.”

InfoComm China will continue to focus on innovations in order to enhance its position as the premiere show on pro-AV and experiential technology. This year’s show featured the inaugural Smart City Industry Forum as well as our first collaboration with China InfoWorld Magazine in jointly organizing the IT Industry Forum with a focus on evolution of the next-generation virtual reality (VR) technologies. Going forward, InfoComm China will continue to add new concepts and platforms, singly or in collaboration with relevant partners.

InfoComm China 2018 promises to be another exciting show with new platforms, new features and more partners in the pipeline. The focus will continue to be on enabling technologies for business transformation and the impact of the digital revolution on businesses including providers of pro-AV and experiential technology solutions.
