Kelly Germain departing Giant Screen Cinema Association

After 18 years of dedicated service at the GSCA, Kelly Germain has announced she will depart her role as Director of Communications and Membership effective December 31 to explore new opportunities and challenges.

Kelly joined GSCA in 2006 as Web Editor and was promoted to Director of Communications and Membership in 2010. Prior to that she was editor of The Big Frame, the publication of the Giant Screen Theater Association (GSTA), from 2001-2006, until it ceased publication upon the merger of GSTA and LFCA.

“Kelly’s knowledge of the giant screen industry is deep and rich,” says GSCA Executive Director Tammy Barrett. “It has been my honor to work with Kelly and learn from her in so many ways. Her skill set is unique and varied. Member Services is her superpower! She knows how to bring people together and makes many invaluable connections. She is a webmaster, an excellent writer and editor, and is so helpful with every level of communications. She is the ultimate teammate—willing to pitch in to get the job done at every turn. Her wisdom and steadfastness will be missed.”

“It has been a tremendous honor to be part of GSCA and an immense privilege to serve its members,” says Kelly. “I am deeply grateful for the fulfilling experiences I’ve been fortunate to have had during my many years here and proud of the meaningful work we have all done together. Most of all, I cherish the relationships and the supportive giant screen community, and I will take these long-lasting friendships with me. I hope our paths continue to cross.”

Kelly has been working closely with Tammy to ensure a smooth and successful transition. Tammy will begin the search for Kelly’s replacement in the coming months and will handle her responsibilities in the meantime.

The GSCA Board of Directors would like to express its gratitude to Kelly for her efforts on behalf of GSCA and the giant screen industry. The organization wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
