Oceaneering to supply all ride systems for Falcon’s Beyond properties

Falcon’s Beyond Global, LLC has engaged industry leader Oceaneering Entertainment Systems (OES) to provide all ride systems for properties that are currently in development and will be secured for the future rollout of Falcon’s Beyond-developed and -operated theme parks, throughout the world.

Falcon’s Beyond was formalized in May 2021 by the consolidation of Falcon’s Creative Group with Katmandu Group. The enterprise has emerged as a fully integrated source for simultaneous entertainment IP activations — from streaming media development to theme park site acquisition; master planning to brick-and-mortar projects; immersive ride and attraction design to merchandise creation; right through world-class park & resort operation.

Together, Falcon’s Beyond and OES are already working to launch the $100 million Katmandu Park in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, slated to open fall 2022, with additional projects to be announced.

The collaboration between OES and Falcon’s Beyond teams goes back almost two decades and includes the development of important new ride technologies, including the patented Suspended Theater of Falcon’s Beyond. Both companies are based in Orlando, FL, which has helped enable their long-standing relationship.

Helping storytellers “move their audiences”

Oceaneering International, Inc. is an engineering and services enterprise operating in aerospace, oil & gas, military and defense, renewable energy and more. In 2019, it reported $2 billion in revenue. Oceaneering Entertainment Systems leverages the talent, experience and resources of the greater organization to “help storytellers move their audiences” at the world’s best-known parks.

“We are beyond excited to bring our old friends at OES on board as our ride systems provider worldwide,” said Cecil Magpuri, Chief Executive Officer of Falcon’s Beyond Global. “They share our core values and are well known for the highest standards of quality, safety and smooth engineering. With full collaboration between our teams, we’re already creating cutting-edge experiences. The Falcon’s Beyond parks — with innovative OES-built rides — will be reliably mind-blowing.”

“We’ve had a fantastic creative relationship with the Falcon’s team going back to 2002, and together we’ve developed extraordinary attractions at leading parks,” said Dave Mauck, Vice President and General Manager at Oceaneering International. “We’re thrilled by the Falcon’s Beyond vision for ‘Big-Experience, Small-Footprint’ parks in leading resort destinations around the globe, and we’re truly honored to help our good friends amaze and delight audiences with great storytelling—and engineering.”

The first full expression of the Falcon’s Beyond IP Expander model will be the Katmandu IP, wholly-owned by Falcon’s Beyond, and beloved by millions who have visited Sol Katmandu Park & Resort in Mallorca, Spain. Falcon’s Beyond enjoys a joint venture with Meliá Hotels International, one of the world’s leading resort groups with 390+ properties in 40 countries. The joint venture will roll out story-driven Katmandu Parks within tourist destinations worldwide, beginning with Katmandu Punta Cana.

OES will be key to implementing revolutionary technologies at the park in Punta Cana, including a dark ride and Suspended Theater.
