Parc Astérix opens Intamin multi-launch coaster in new area of park

Parc Astérix has opened its newest key attraction – an Intamin multi-launch coaster named “Toutatis” in a new area of the park called “Festival Toutatis”. The scenography of Festival Toutatis is in keeping with the spirit of a “Gallic Festival” in the middle of the Forest of Carnutes where the Gallic tribes come to celebrate their God Toutatis.

Toutatis features seven LSM launches, five forward and two backward, all utilizing the strongest LSM launch system available on the market, said Intamin. This multi-launch coaster has a physical track length of over 1100 meters, but riders experience an impressive track length of almost 1400 meters. Besides the top speed of about 110 km/h, riders will experience a height of 51m and a total of 23 g airtime moments.

A spokesperson for Intamin explained: “Toutatis is full of surprises and riders will have no time to take a breath while whizzing through this stunning layout guaranteeing more than one adrenaline rush. 32 gripping elements designed to immerse riders into the world of the Gaulish heros Asterix and Obelix. This coaster can be described as a coaster enthusiast’s dream.”

The hemed three 20-seater trains with ergonomically shaped seats and over-the-shoulder-lap-bar, ensure maximum freedom and comfort in combination with highest safety for the passengers.

“Intamin is proud of having contributed to the success of Parc Asterix and would like to thank the entire team of Park Astérix and CDA for the outstanding cooperation,” said a spokesperson.
