Paul Kent joins Mad Systems as VP of global business development

Mad Systems announced the addition of Paul Kent to their growing team as the Vice President of Global Business Development. Kent will be representing the audiovisual company from his base in the United Kingdom.

Kent brings 30 years of experience within the themed entertainment industry to Mad Systems, which specializes in interactive experiences for museums, visitor centers, theme parks and traveling exhibitions. With his background in the technology and AV space, Kent is considered ideal for the firm as they continue their expansion and development of the AV system QuickSilver and other advanced technologies.

Throughout Kent’s extensive career, he has filled various roles, from design to site management. His expertise spans different markets, including museums, science centers, retail environments, theme parks and live shows.

Kent is an active member of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) as the Vice President of the EME Division Board. He is also currently part of the Manufacturers and Suppliers EMEA Subcommittee for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).

Maris Ensing, the founder of Mad Systems, said, “We are very excited about the future of Mad with Paul coming aboard. Mad is in a state of strong growth, and we look forward to the new opportunities Paul will bring to the team.”

Kent commented, “I am incredibly excited to join Mad Systems and their world-beating team of designers and technologists. The technologies being created there are disruptive compared to how traditional integrators work. As a team, everyone at Mad gets it, even if it means moving and thinking totally outside of the box; after all, what other technology company has built an aeroplane at a client’s request? That ‘let’s do it’ attitude makes them unique across the market.”

Mad Systems Inc. owner Tricia Rodriguez said, “Things are changing in a very positive way for the AV industry, the themed entertainment industry, and for Mad. We always strive to be ahead of the curve, and having Paul on our team will help us with that goal. We are very excited to have him as part of our team.”

Mad Systems expanded its international reach earlier this year by hiring Darryl Baggley, who will primarily assume project management responsibilities, and is based in Toronto, Canada. Mad Systems is headquartered in Orange, California, and has a footing in Orlando, Florida, through its sales rep, Toni Losier.
