PPDS names Vince Shuster as Commercial VP, Professional Displays North America

PPDS, the global provider of Philips Professional TV and Philips Digital Signage products, software and innovations, announced the appointment of experienced AV sales and company leader, Vince Schuster, as its new Commercial Vice President, Professional Displays North America.

Leading PPDS into a new era of growth in North America, Schuster — an AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist, Digital Signage Display Expert, and certified in Imaging Science Foundation-Commercial — is a respected figure in the AV industry, with a track record for driving increased revenue, profit and sustainable growth, at some of the world’s most influential AV/IT organizations specializing in digital signage and visual display technologies.

With a career spanning more than 25 years, Schuster brings invaluable additional industry knowledge and experience to the PPDS team in North America, as well as the wider global company.

Based in the greater Washington, D.C., metro region, and reporting to PPDS General Manager, Chris Colpaert, Schuster is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day management of the business. Core focus areas will be to rapidly expand the business (and grow market share), extending awareness of the PPDS brand and the benefits the business provides — both to the channel and to the end customer — through its best-in-class customer support, partner programs and its extensive portfolio of professional display solutions.

Chris Colpaert said: “I am thrilled to welcome Vince to the PPDS team. Vince is a natural leader, and his knowledge and experience of the AV industry are second to none. North America is an important and growing market for PPDS and we see some incredible opportunities ahead with our ever-evolving portfolio of display solutions. Vince was the standout choice to support our ambitions and to take this company to the next level in North America and achieving its potential.”

Crest of a wave

PPDS has experienced significant growth in North America in 2021, becoming a trusted Pro TV, Digital Signage and LED brand of choice for a growing number of markets verticals. This has been accelerated by the release of a series of dedicated and often world-first solutions launched this year for multiple markets, including Hospitality (Philips MediaSuite), Education (Philips T-Line), Retail (Philips D-Line, X-Line), Corporate (Philips C-Line), Food and Beverage (Philips B-Line), the new Philips L-Line 7000 LED range, among others.

Fuelling its ambition to bring additional value and choice to customers, while making the buying and installation process of solutions more simplified and aligned, the business has also recently undergone a full company rebrand and executed a brand new ‘Total Solutions’ global strategy, moving beyond just displays, by forming a series of strategic partnerships with a growing number of leading hardware and software providers, including Crestron, Advantech, Bosch, Intel, i3 Technologies.

Speaking on his appointment and ambitions for the company, Vince said: “I’ve worked in this industry for more than 25 years, and I can candidly say I have never been more excited nor enthusiastic about the opportunities that lay ahead with PPDS.

“Philips has always been a brand that leads from the front, and is a company synonymous with quality, innovation and an eye on the future — three invaluable pillars. PPDS’ portfolio is making some big waves in North America and forcing other, arguably more established competitors, to rethink the way they do business.”
